Public code repositories and data tools. Most of the interactive tools below are also gathered at my research hub, heterodata.org. For source material on related research, see the Research and TNSE pages.
Each project lists its website and its GitHub repository side by side — the site is the interactive explorer; the repo holds the code and data.
Research-Data Hub
The research-data platform that gathers the interactive data sites — Gerhard, Shaikh Data, Lewis, Vlad, and Leontief — alongside the affiliated standalone sites (freenic.org, foodberg.org, methodex.fyi).
U.S. Public Finance
An interactive treatment of American public finance — federal taxation, spending, deficits, debt, and the Treasury market over time. It is the interactive companion to my written work on duration and public finance, and tax-revenue cyclicality.
National Accounts Replication (ShaikhTonak)
Replication and extension of Anwar Shaikh’s Capitalism (2016) empirical data and the Shaikh & Tonak Measuring the Wealth of Nations (1994) framework — productive labor, net social wage, exploitation rate.
International Economics and the Balance of Payments
An international-economics platform covering the current account, the flow of funds, and how the rest of the world finances the United States — and who profits. It is the interactive companion to my historical balance-of-payments work.
Soviet and Imperial-Russian Official Statistics
A corpus overview and construction roadmap for the official statistics of the Soviet Union and Imperial Russia — what the sources are, how they fit together, and how the series will be built.
U.S. Input–Output Explorer
An interactive explorer over the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis Input-Output accounts. Compute the Leontief inverse across 71 sectors and trace how demand in one industry ripples through the rest of the economy, 1997–2024.
Open Banking Regulatory Data
A public Python and R package plus a server providing programmatic access to 1.5 billion rows of US banking regulatory data spanning 1863–2026. Coverage: 217,210 institutions, 34 Parquet tables, 20 source datasets, 15 query tools. Any researcher (or AI agent) can query the consolidated data directly without writing custom adapters.
Historical Food Price Explorer
A full-stack web application (React + FastAPI) for exploring historical food commodity prices across FAO, USDA WASDE, BLS, FRED, and World Bank data. 169,000+ records from 5 sources.
A History of Economic Statistics
The construction-and-revision history of economic statistics — for any series, at any date, see how it was built and which governing manual was in force, with citations back to that manual.
Home Mortgage Disclosure Act Dashboard
An interactive dashboard for exploring Home Mortgage Disclosure Act data, 2019–2023 — slice U.S. mortgage applications and originations by geography, borrower demographics (HUD CHAS data), and lending institution. Built during my research assistantship at The New School’s Schwartz Center for Economic Policy Analysis. Please allow the app a moment to spin up on first load.
Archive at the Levy Economics Institute
35 boxes, 77,452 pages, and 532 GB of digital content of Anwar Shaikh’s working papers, correspondence, lecture notes, manuscripts, course videos and audio, and digitized VHS and cassette tapes, housed at the Levy Economics Institute of Bard College. I am Lead Archivist. See TNSE for context.
The dedicated site for Anwar Shaikh’s real economics
A public website hosting resources for heterodox and classical political economy related to Anwar Shaikh’s empirical contributions.
AI-First Research Workspace
The home of the AI tools used across all of my research projects. Skill templates, workspace standards, and supporting infrastructure for AI-assisted empirical research.
